The English name of the Faculty of Urban Design is “School of Sustainable Design.” “Sustainable” means “capable of being maintained,” a term often seen and heard in the context of SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). “Design” refers to the process of planning and creating, and in fields like architecture and art, it also includes the meaning of “creative.” Thus, the Faculty of Urban Design aims to cultivate individuals who can creatively solve various issues in building a sustainable society.
The three departments of the Faculty of Urban Design consider a “sustainable f
uture” from social, technological, and environmental perspectives, based on specialized and deep knowledge in their respective fields. In the latter half of the third year, when students have acquired solid expertise, all departments collaborate to identify and solve (regional and social) issues. Here, with data science knowledge as a common foundation, the different specialties of the three departments interact to create realistic yet creative solutions.
Why not challenge yourself to “create the future” through such chemical reactions in this faculty?
